Leighton Art Centre

The Leighton Art Centre, a hidden gem in southern Alberta, is a non-profit gallery and museum near Millarville. The original home of Alfred and Barbara Leighton, it shows a variety of exhibitions by Alberta artists with the predominant focus being art inspired by landscape.

Alfred Crocker Leighton came to Canada in 1924 to work for CP Rail. In 1931 Leighton formed the Alberta Society of Artists. Throughout the 1930s Leighton spent his time between teaching and exhibitions.
